I've recently had an op,
also called a procedure,
because I suffered
a cardiac seizure.

I thought the consultant
was talking about art
but he was referring
to my dickey heart.

He didn't speak
of hermetic symbolism
but had a theory
about acute embolism.

The surgeon revealed
the firm intention
of performing himself
the delicate intervention.

Was the nurse smiling?
I didn't like to ask.
Her mouth was hiding
behind a mask.

Good morning, Rhiannon.
It is based on personal experience but it may sound more dramatic than it is. Three days ago, during a minor procedure, my heart went aflutter briefly but unexpectedly. This set in motion lots of concerned investigations by the medical staff but I'm OK.

Those days this guy couldn't understand why all the doctors were all wearing masks untill he got the bills. Now everyone is wearing masks like superheroes or bankrobbers.

Hi Nolan, while it is wise to think about the bills, what worries me is the number of pills that the doctors prescribe.

It must have been a very frightening experience Luigi, not only for you, but for your wife too. I'm sure being able to write a poem about your hospital incident must help.Thank goodness you're still with us.

I hope you're going to email a copy of this to the surgeon? I bet they don't get much poetic response to their work! Well deserved cherries, and I'm so pleased you're through the unexpected blip.
