Never Satisfied!

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

See, Eve with so much, still succumb

to feeling she needs something more,

and Satan is pleased still to come

stirring envy and cravings galore.

When rescued from slavery hard,

by miracle brought through the sea

in the desert supplied with good food,

some wanted to feast constantly.

Dissatisfied, sensing a hole,

an emptiness gnaws at our soul.

But only God’s Words can feed, fill:

find peace in accepting his will.

“Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.” Deuteronomy 8:3
