Carefree Days

Where spirit tune

plays softly in

drifting late

summer stillness;

 

Maple tree took rein

of my heartstrings,

rocked me beneath

shady limbs,

 

entwined branches

so calm...sanctuary

meandering with

enchantment;

 

encapsulated carefree

leafy overhang. My

steady breath could

not be anchored,

 

observing focus of

shadows dreamlike;

carrying me away on

current of welcome air.

Hi insert,

sitting under our Maple tree listening to Tchaikovsky is simply the best feeling in the world. It's like leaving cares and worries far behind, a safe haven of spirituality. I'm so glad you could capture some of that feeling in this poem.
