Over these past few weeks, was repeatedly emailed 20% off Lakeland, 15% off Celtic & Co, 10% off Emma Bridgewater, who miss me, apparently. Audible want me back for 99p a month for three months. Seasalt offering £40 off, Markies advertising a new autumn wardrobe, on a daily basis. Shearer Candles, who went bust earlier this year, are back, but only online. Søstrene Grene, offering early access to their Christmas shop.
Ignored all offers.
I’d like to say ‘stoically’, but that wouldn’t be true.
No-spendity has been enlightening, depressing, boring, and difficult. Slightly concerned there will be an off-the-leash blitz-spend come November. Also realised that I don’t like being told what to do, even if I’m doing the telling.
Where I live, shopping online is pretty necessary. It also makes going into town a bit of a treat, if stinky and noisy. Often, I think the best part of going into town is when I’m back home, Jewson’s door locked, Laura Ashley curtains shut, Søstrene Grene candles lit, Celtic & Co slipper-boots on, story from Audible playing as I make some Dali-esque toast to dunk in soup, freshly homemade in Davey ‘Crock-pot’ from Lakeland.
Last month, I bit. Took a subscription offer for Disney+ at £1.99 a month for three months. Wanted to see ‘Only Murders in the Building’. Laughed out loud a few times, (not at series four).
Won’t continue the subscription after the three months. Frankly, ‘Only Murders’ should have stopped after series three too. It’s been worth it for the film of the original cast performing ‘Hamilton’. Genius.
Plus, all the Chip’N’Dale I can handle.
Jilly Cooper’s ‘bonkbuster’ ‘Rivals’, is coming to Disney+ this month (no pun intended).
What would Bambi’s mother say?
“You’ve replaced one mind-numbing addiction with another, idiot”.
That’s what Bambi’s mother would say.

If you sell things you no
If you sell things you no longer need on Vinted, and don't withdraw the money. Then you can buy other things on Vinted and technically you haven't spent anything. Zero guilt so long as you don't think about it too deeply!
