Christmas Cheer

Distilled in an enchanted well
a giddy tonic that cannot be capped
tapped by the year's weary sojourners
imbibed into festive minds on Christmas Eve
the bubbly, fizzing spring wells up in merry hearts
an oxidated stream surges to their brains
a chemical reaction explodes in the nerve endings
Red, rosettes spout onto warmed cheeks
Bursts of laughter trickle through voice boxes
Glittering twinkles are sprinkled from mirthful eyes
Twitching noses gush with aromatic smells;
frankincense, spicy wines, and holly twigs
In titillated ears flow streams of merry melodies
And seeps down into hopeful spirits
forming a deep reservoir of Christmas cheer
to spurt up freely throughout the next year
