from a place unknown
By abyss

There exists a door,
A door to a place unknown,
Of sometimes straw,
Of sometimes titanium,
Behind which live creatures
Battered, bruised, angered, enraged,
Misunderstood.
They beg to be let out,
Their lamentations rarely heard,
Yet those shrills shake the soul
Within which they reside.
Deformed and misshapen offspring of
Original, incestuous sin fight
To catch the last wind of evolution,
Only to be violently blown off course and
Unpleasantly awaken from fantastic dreams
Of what lies beyond their place unknown.
These dreams they revel in,
As their kingdom is darker than
They proclaim it to be to those
Who believe and those who do not.
For I can only pity these creatures
cast away from the eyes,
forgotten from the thoughts,
forsaken from the heart,
Hiding behind an even-tempered door
Which remains bolted from within.
