Queen bee

 
We made a sanctuary for you,
surrounded you with flowers,
played soft music
and the sound of the waves,
burned lavender candles - 
you're favourite.
The bees came -
your namesake,
settled in the walls
that surround,
buzzing gently round. 
Working on the blossoms provided 
as the birds sing for you
a peaceful song.
All of nature came to see you out,
to say goodbye. 
Queen bee,
settled in her nest,
enveloping, protected
and say
Bye bye Bee.

the letting go is a long and dawn out; death never final; after the queen bee is gone the buzz lives on and echoes through all that remains of you.
