A moment of clarity
In the bar
heads tilt backwards,
Skulls grinning laughter
at worn out jokes,
Relaxing, my face
fits back its mask,
This is a special
way of being alone;
All you need is a
crowd,
What lies beyond,
this worn routine?
Elevation to glory; maybe,
more likely being
Absorbed into something
unknown,
Better not to ask,
to step
Smartly back from
the line,
Fit into the work
shaped groove,
Spend evenings hunting
vainly after words,
Now then old friend,
tell me again
The one about….
January 2015.

Melancholy behind the bravado

Melancholy behind the bravado, I like how this shows those who may seem fine can have something worryig them behind the mask.
