Conscience

Throughout your life, it will always be there,
No matter how you live out all your days.
It's but a whisper, or for some a blare.
It might commend you, or scold for your ways.

You should embrace it, no internal strife.
Don't you ignore it, for it can't be snuffed.
Whether you have just saved a person's life,
Or walking from a crime scene, wrists handcuffed.

That voice inside, we all keep ignoring,
will always be with us, here at all times.
It is our rock, our personal mooring.
keeps us from losing our food and our dimes.

So if that little voice is well rehearsed,
Then think about where your life's going, first.
