Omar's Diary 1st February 2015 - It's my genes that keep me indoors

For a Sunday morning the servants were up and about quite early.
Man servant went outside to do some digging, weeding and hoeing in the back garden. As I do not have en suite I can only assume that his efforts at clearing more ground at the top of the garden were additional external facilities for me.
Despite being urged to join him I elected to watch his efforts on my behalf from the bedroom windowsill most conveniently situated above the radiator. You see, Tonkinese like me were originally bred in Canada specifically to live in apartments in places like Toronto and Manhattan. Winters in both these places can be very severe as is happening on the Eastern seaboard now. So, my reluctance to go outside is not agoraphobic, laziness or ambivalence. It is my genetic makeup that has set my behaviour patterns.
After a few minutes watching I got very bored and wandered off to see what the lady servant was up to. I found her in the office in deep concentration. I knew this because I was not noticed when I made my entry and also because she always has a pen in her mouth when thinking deeply. To get some attention I brushed gently up against her legs. No reaction. Must be thinking really hard. Plan B put into action. I then jumped up on to the desk. My landing place was covered with little bits of paper which went flying off in all directions, including the floor. This startled me a bit so I feigned shock at the chaos I had caused and walked across the keyboard of the laptop. My walking on the keyboard made the screen go a bit squiffy.
'Omar! I love you dearly but you can be a monster.......look! All my expense claims are all over the place now.'
I was picked up and placed on the floor. Not too ceremoniously I have to add.
After being told off ever so slightly I was given a few of my favourite treats and as you can see from the picture today the lady servant and I were friends again.
