Fortified paper heart

I think in life,
if in the past we've been shunned
by love
we tend to distrust it,
reject it even,
atleast to start with,
it breaks our heart down to meer
paper.
Paper thin walls
containing paper thin hopes
of ever being loved again.
But occasionally
somebody slips through our guard
and treats us like deities,
and that person
slowly rebuilds
what we thought was broken forever.
Now i'm sitting here
writting this poem
thinking about my special person
and about how glad I am
I let her in,
because she's fortified
my paper heart.
