Forever Looking Upward

Forever looking upward
Forever looking
upward, never knowing why
Always falling downward,
watching time pass me by
Photos without feeling, are
my oldest memories
A picture, in my head, emotions
in deep freeze
I wonder when im
older
And time has started to
crawl
Will I even remember
Those
nights that we played ball
The orange glow from the
lampposts peak
Or the echoed shouts through the
night
The sweat, the falls, "he shoots he
scores"
And simple verbal
fights
Will I even loosely
recall
Those nights we drove
around
A simple elation, always
celebration
i never once touched the
ground
What about those days we sat in a
haze
And spoke of our broken
dreams
Then carved something new, a borrowed
blue
And listened to the vixens
screams
Those foxes could sure give a
fright
When sitting inside that
car
Anxious glances and righteous stances
When we looked for a certain
star
Those dewy eyes and breathless
laughs
Will probably be one day
lost
But I hope when im old, I wont feel
cold
Or ever worry about the
cost
And I truly hope things will get
better
Cos we had the time of our
lives
Out till 2, every night felt
new
A time when nothing cryed
What
about the day we decided to stray
And missioned on
down to Bristol
Limped with the bizkit, smoked the
best shiznit
And sung like my mouth was a
pistol
Then that time, we built a
shrine
Out of dead limbs of
trees
Tripping all night, watching the
firelight
And Eating off our
knees
That campfire bliss, a cooked sausage
hissed
While carl played on his
guitar
The soundtrack of that stress free
night
When the flames played on the
stars
As his sound got faster, the flames grew
harder
And played against the leaves
the sound of love on the trees
above
Never wanting to leave
After
all that, I felt I had 5 brothers
Who each knew me
for what I was
5 good guys, always on my
side
Always a win, never a loss
