Love Song

Love's a song we all can sing.
Saint or sinner, fool or king.
A song that's sung in many keys
With countless different harmonies.
And though we sang a good duet,
I hoped we'd make it better yet.
Instead it seems you've lost the tune,
I pray, my dear, it will come back soon.
For our song continues in my heart,
As it always has from the very start.
Please come back and share my song,
It's been a solo for far too long.
Please come back and sing along.
Let our hearts once more be one.
For like the Phoenix from its ashes sprung,
Our song reborn can be better sung.
For now we know each others range,
What to keep and what to change,
To make our song both sweet and true,
A life-long song, for me and you.
Let's show those fools who only mime,
That when sung well love song's sublime.
Hate is a song that makes us bold
Quick to judge and quick to scold.
A selfish song that blights our lives,
Causes pain and blinds our eyes.
A song with but a single key.
A major cause of disharmony.
Self is the Piper : if you fill his bowl,
While you sing he'll steal your soul.
Love's a song that lights our lives,
Brings us joy and shines our eyes.
If a singer you would be.
Sing love's song along with me.
For when you life is over,
Your singing done.
God will judge, the songs you've sung!
