oliver's new shoes

Oliver had some wonderful news,

'Cause someone bought him some new shoes.

He put them on his little feet,

and walked right on down the street.

He polished them up nice and bright;

they were such an awesome sight

that all his friends would stare and smile,

and say, "It shows you've got such style."

They were such a thing to be seen,

he got an invitation from the Queen,

who said, "If you'll give my shoes a rub,

Sir Oliver I shall thee dub."

And so it was he went to court,

with his polish and the cloth he'd brought,

which upon the Queen's shoes he alighted,

and having done his work he was duly knighted.
