I've wrapped a ring around my ankle to remember.
So I don't forget when I'm washing, to push further.
My breasts
floating like bruised fruit above the bath water
make me remember failure
like a pattern on a dress when I was eight,
other girls pubic hairs
on the rim of the bath,
orange peel sleeping like a letter
in the ashtray
mark this remembering
a motto.
