What Do YOU Think?

Have you noticed how difficult it is to get an answer to that question?
For instance:
“What do you think is causing such steep rises in food prices?”
“Well, ‘expert 2’ says it’s probably down to climate change but ‘expert 3’ says it definitely isn’t!
“Yes, but what do you think?”
“Expert 3 has a good track record in this area and has more supporters than expert 2.”
“Why is it always so black and white with these experts? Couldn’t it be that climate change is simply one of several factors?”
“Well, expert 3 says it is down to the Chinese having a higher standard of living nowadays.”
“What do you think?”
“Well expert 2 says it has nothing to do with that... it’s all the droughts and floods that are causing crops to fail.”
“What do you think?”
“You would think that the changing weather patterns must be affecting farmer’s output but expert 3 says that’s just a cover to hide the fact that farmers are growing different crops to cash in on the bio-fuel bonanza.”
“What do you think?”
“Err, well, let’s wait and see... expert1 should be back from his holidays soon and he’s sure to know!”
So, has life become a multiple choice questionnaire with simple black and white answers or have many peopled been so sucked into the cult of experts that it’s just starting to look that way?
After arguing for years it seems that finally the experts ( nearly all) agree that we are causing climate change by our CO2 emissions increasing the greenhouse effect. The very fact that so many experts agree makes me feel this is probably not the real reason but I do feel it’s time to seriously cut back on the number of cars polluting our planet so I’m willing to pretend I agree :O)
