Building Castles In The Sky

My eyes flutter, fade, and surrender,
Let the images filter through my mind,
Expel me to new heights, a dozy delirium,
Of unsolved riddles dancing on the tip of my eyelids,
Confusing the senses, altering the state of my mind,
Imagination taking over, ceasing the lead.
I am on the border of dreaming now,
Yet the blinding rays of reality, remain,
Glare on, seeping through like an unwanted guest,
Intruding in this self-made paradise,
Of things that have been, should be,
And never will become.
Candyfloss swirls of pink, flourish, stain the sky,
Intertwined with Satin tones of red, the clouds reveal an opening,
A hidden realm, of distorted shapes,I seize the chance,
Dazzle, disappear, I climb higher,
Dance in the wild air, free my mind,
Float defiantly ever deeper into the interworking’s of my mind.
Could this somehow be real?
A guilty box of pleasures, to which I have the only key,
A fourth world of wonder,
I am as the rabbit went down the hole,
A fearless character in my own mad creation,
Reality has no anchor here.
