Ali Farka Touré and crochet on a Sunday

Reclining on my bed mid afternoon -
tangled in bright threads of wool,
I fell in love
with Ali Farka Touré's guitar.
Tears streamed down my face
indulgent ones - not sad,
and then I thought
that if I died
reclined upon this comfy bed
I'd end my life quite glad -
drowning in the bright of colours
wound around once nimble fingers -
in love with rhythm
and the sound
of Ali Farka Touré's guitar.
Want nothing -
there is nothing
'Cept sweet rhythm of the lazy day,
with me and crochet sending
worlds of wickedness away,
in love as I am - as I'll always be
from now on -
with Ali Farka Touré's guitar.
