A Little Biit Less

Will you want to touch me,
or will you love me a little less
when my lonely bosom sadly droops
beside a gaping gash?
Will I lay close by your side at night,
while you do your very best
to avoid the familiar place of your hand
in the space of my missing breast?
Will you say what's on your mind,
even when your mind has strayed,
somewhere nearer perfection
and the girl of your wedding day?
Or will you want to close your eyes
and sorry, turn away
as I ask you if you love me,
and you don't know what to say?
The answer to each question
is anybody's guess,
but me, I'll be as I was before,
if just a little less.

You are taking us right in to
You are taking us right in to each painful thought and experience, aren't you. No, I guess we can't be taken to each. But this is amazingly forthright. What came to my mind is that our 'outward man/woman' is perishing gradually for all of us, and physically we aren't what we were. So, the importance of the inner self, and for husbands and wives to appreciate that. But some big changes must be so poignant to handle. Rhiannon

For all its humour and light
For all its humour and light rhyming scheme, this speaks of anxiety, loss and fear in a way that reaches people deeply. Rhiannon is right - straight to the heart of the matter and boldly speaking with enormous depth.

God, I'm not very on the ball
God, I'm not very on the ball today, am I. Got you - very crafty. Ignore me, am a plonker.

a little less is a little
a little less is a little more, no one is keeping score, but perhaps some day the weight of evidence will point your way.

Hi Bee
Hi Bee
Another painfully honest and heart felt piece about your journey with cancer. You certainly paint a clear image.
