Four Little Voices In My Head

Four voices in my head
That greet me every
morning
The first to speak when I
arouse, is dread
“Damn it, Bloody damn
it. Another day at work...”
But, I speak to these
voices little voices
To reassure them, and
keep them at bay.
“Hang in there, it's
another day to 'till the weekend”
A little voice booms in
my head
For Anger has awoken.
“Poxy Job! Poxy poxy
living!-”
“-I hate it! I hate his
guts! I spit at this life!”
I sigh and and calm him
down.
“Listen, we are all in
this together, remember?”
A little voice weeps in
my head
Despair wants no more.
“I can't stand this, I
cannot live like this any more....”
“I need it to end...”
I sigh a little, before
comforting him.
“Keep strong...”-I
say
-”,,,We've gotten this
far, we cannot give up now!”
Yet, despite my assuring
words
Those little voices still
continue to battle with each other
In a mental war with myself.
I shake my head and let out a groan
“When will this ever end?”
I ask myself out loud...
Then a voice speaks
Drowning out the others.
He speaks clearly and calmly to me.
“Be patient, your time will come.”
“I've already waited long enough!” I retort back.
“You can keep going long after you think you can't” Reminded that voice.
Despite such words, all I do is growl in frustration
And brush past that voice
aside.
And yet, that voice I
discouraged
Was Hope.
