Autumn she waits

Autumn she waits
The summer haze sprinkled drops of sunshine; that freckled beyond leafy filters
She bursts her glory like scattered rice on wedding day,
She cracked sides of puddles and ponds; and wilts green out of reach
As they lay awaiting for resurrection, on a muddy hard beach.
---
Sunset scattered clouds like cotton balls torn into a blaze; un-ignited.
As they blend a watercolour sunset, the sky sinks into slumber
Planning another glorious day; keeping autumn away.
---
But autumn waits with her pallet, she it prettier and always stole my heart
She threw her kisses down, from leafy filters now laid bare
She made Virginia blush into the garden wall
Now she’s here and summer knows her fait
My autumn lover, she no longer waits.
