Before Redressing

You asked me to use

Capsaicin on a crusty place

On the nape of your neck.

Naked on bed's edge

You pushed up, held your hair

As I applied the cream.

Carefully, I flaked bits off

Without tearing flesh,

Cleaning, until new skin.

I blew flakes away.

You shivered--then turned,

Of a sudden, so so shy.

hi celticman:  7th of 8 in an 8 poem sequence, FOR S., 8 POEMS. have just revised the last line and so re-posted this poem, first posted here a year or two ago. thanks for "bite", though in my head, to my ear, nothing i write is "light", perhaps a reflection of  my essential grimness. thanks
