My Favourite Spot

I look down at the beautiful green valley, knowing that this place
is sacred to me. I can do all my thinking here, about friends, family
and all the rest of my life.
There is a soft breeze blowing in my hair and rustling through the tall
trees that surround me. The ocean is way far ahead of me but I can
still hear the strong waves of the sea crashing against the rocks. I
have my best friend next to me. He is sitting next to me looking at me
and I know I can trust him because they do say dogs are mans best
friend.
A horse gallops across this valley below me, its white mane and tail
flowing in the wind behind him. The sun is bright and there are only a
few clouds in the sky. I close my eyes and rest my head against the
soft grass listening to the sounds all around me.
The waves, the breeze in the trees, my dog panting softly, a few birds
singing the summer song and the ocean far away. I love this spot and I
am glad that absolutely no one knows of this place. This place is mine
where I can get away from it all. If I am stressed I come here and
think about all my troubles and because of the beautiful scene it seems
as though the warm sun melts those troubles away.
This place was nearly discovered once, but luckily I prevented it. My
little brother was sent to look for me and I know it wasn't his fault
when I heard him call my name. I knew that, that day might have been
the last day of my place. I ran as fast as I could trying to run to my
brother to make sure he did not know which direction I was going.
Luckily he was very young then so he did not notice that I was very
tense
That day was a close one for I knew that if this place was discovered,
my spot would be gone forever. But as I lay here today on the soft
grass, I know this will be forever my favorite spot
