"Russet Leaves"

Orange and brown leaves
Maybe a child collects
as they flutter down
and draw around the
pattern leaves

Look!
Momma what I have found
what stories each one could tell
Along comes the toad could be
fluorescent in the dark

The cat's about for birds and mice
but the toad is getting bigger still

The candescent moon floats across the sky
a nip in the air with dark nights drawing in
My special cat "Jazz" with his green eyes
his winter black coat I stroke as I pass by

The headlights of the cars so bright
Curtains are closing some in exoctic colours
Ants in the Dahlias in a vase
are in all the petals
some been running across the table

I see out the corner of my eye!
as I'm switching onto Abctales.
