Much Ado About Thralton

There was much ado in Thralton
As the day dawned fresh and clear
We gathered on the village green.
It happens every year

Malcolm Birdseed and his team
Would all forego their fee
To perform a sponsored bungee jump
For the sake of charity

There was great excitement as we watched
George Winched up high and fast
But the weather took a frightful turn
And soon was overcast

Now we should have known but as is true
We all tend to forget
That Malcolm Birdseed and his team
Will not jump in the wet

There was massive disappointment
As the rain began to fall
So we shifted the proceedings
To Thralton Village Hall

So as we ran in from the wet
And rain fell from the skies
Malcolm Birdseed and his team
Were forced to improvise

The Malcolm Birdseed Bungee Team
Performed their daring fall
With expectations running high
Surprise attack was all

These six foot two performers
Performed without a wire!
As they all jumped off a cupboard
Which wasn’t that much higher

There was untold disenchantment
As the locals soon dispersed
The Law of Sod had intervened
To do it’s very worst

But Sod is Sod and law is law
-A lesson swiftly learnt-
That if you play in Sod’s playground
Your fingers will get burnt
