The Passing of the Snowman

The lone sentinel hunches,
Forlorn and featureless;
Powerless to halt its
Slow fall from grace.

A worn, crystalline icon
With a coal-eye stone-button cairn
Monument to its passing.

Yet, standing, immortalised
In childish faith.
