The Title Was

I slept dreaming of those brushes
Triple betrayals in the faces of friends & lovers
Stripped away masks & pounding at the door
We’ve been in every room of this town
That carry so many ghost they invade you while you sleep
Dreaming again & all the plants in the room can’t
Produce enough air to breath
Maybe it’s your future that pushes on my chest
That moment of waking was the one you hate
The feeling of coming up for air
Only to realize that its now that you’re really drowning
I am choked by memory
of battle
A struggle to struggle
The love I have for war
So you will be pure enough to save my soul
I thought you would be alone in the early light
Waiting for the morning glories to bloom
When we met, I didn’t have the early volumes
The pages are torn & crumble with age
So I read the new one that was titled – YOU
Roads cannot be taught
Only taken
My dreams got stronger; they leave scratches on my back
I stopped wearing the jewelry
My favorite perfumes hold only sorrow & pain
I used to open a new sore every day
But even my own fingers resist me now
