Fallen Leaf

The trees gently rustle and shimmer
with all the time in the world.
If it were possible, I would give up my life for a place among them.
I'd sink my feet deep into the soil
and grow a new identity.
The sun would keep me warm.
My roots would keep me watered.
The birds would come to land on
my outstretched arms.
But after what's happened
the trees won't have me now.
And who can blame them?

You convey a picture of rest
You convey a picture of rest away from the pressures.
But surely then a metaphor of the kind of acceptance and peace and haven we can have with God, still offered whatever we have to confess or experience. Rhiannon

a quick note
Ms. D....
I'm not so eloquent in poetry and written finesse as you are....
So I'll just come out and say as it inspires me..
(your work, sucks me right in and takes me there, see it at times live it)... if that makes sense....
Maybe its that connection with nature and the elements I feel in your work.
For sure the artistry of flow with words......
