And Then...

Falling through rain in the car park; I draw a curtain
Just to see you walk the distance from me
Though not one of your glances ever remains
We use our weather sparingly;
I have rolled more out of my pocket than kept
Some loose change, a nose-bloodied handkerchief
You won't find your stains wept
Not on my chest or my shirt sleeve
The sun misses you in the winter,
Though this is not our moment,
Just a heart's shiver
In the water of the moonlight.
