Souls swimming in the shallows
are not always protected from the sea.
Some have drowned in jacuzzis,
where I hold in the warmth,
He has told a few tall ones
to a whispering wall.
The priest is in the doorway
hunched like a sand dune.
Hacked lump of lung
solidifies to ash,
in that cigarette
he also finds God.
