cortex
& send us into our own private
mental
movie
theater
where our own high definition
maximum remembrance
is projected within the walls
of that wonderful tunnel
between our heart &
mind.

because the pre-frontal is one of the
last to go when it comes to the deterioration
of our brains
even through the horrors of alzheimer’s,
our own accounts of good times that have now
passed on
instead, may very well
bounce back for a moment
bringing new joy in taking part again
in those second & minutes once savored
brought back to us
through the power of
song.
