taken in

when the desperation
of the current state of
social disintegration
rotting in the belly of
the empire & spreading
throughout the world
without relenting, but
with a demanding force
to suck out every last
drop of life before
the drained corpse
becomes annihilated by
fire or beat into
brainwashed submission,
large hopeful eyes
(for it’s said that hope is
the last thing to go)
will fall upon the
walk of a wo/man whose
smile & mannerisms,
whose gravitas has not
yet fully been comprehended
& they will glow
like a firefly coasting in
the darkening night---
they will glow with
thoughtless, naïve
anticipation, in the
waiting for all the worry
to go away, because this
wo/man will appear to
have fresh clean answers
to questions that have
stumped the ages & the
ability to trump even the
most rigorous skeptics,
so that the will of one
person becomes the black
hole that swallows the
rest of those round them
into blind submission &
the ability to do absolutely
anything in order to
preserve that initial high,
that initial unexplainable
aura which they experienced
in want of a ticket to bliss &
real change in the here & now,
after walking down a long
path with him/her from which
there is no return & to which
only the travesty of cult &
the horrific events that inevitably
follow, occur.
