unnecessary vulgarity

within the borders of the
united states lies 5% of
the world’s total
population & within those
same borders, ¼ of the
world’s total prison
population also exists.
for every 100,000 people in
the united states, 743 of
them are in prison---this
beats russia coming in at
2nd with 557 per 100,000,
& china in 3rd with 120
per 100,000.
40% of those behind bars
in the united states are
african-american males.
70% of those behind bars
are non-whites &
since 1980’s ineffectual
“war on drugs,” the
amount of people imprisoned
in the united states had
quadrupled---primarily due
to the mandatory sentencing
which the “war” entails,
placing harsh sentences on
those convicted of mere
possession & trafficking.
bail is very often set higher for
african-american men than for
white men, and in conjunction with
such policies, the amount of
representation which they see in
the blessed
governmental structure.
& just for shites & giggles,
mr. stephen raphael
prof. of public policy at
berkley in cali came up
with an experiment.
he had a white male & an
african-american male
(both without any criminal
record)
apply for the same jobs.
should we pause so the
suspense can build?
the white male got a callback
34% of the time, where as
14% of the time the african-
american male received a
callback.
should we go on to speak about the amazing
education system in the
united states
and how its budget continues to get slashed every year
by those that take that money and spend it on
more
guns
&
bombs
so that we can spread the empire far and wide across the globe,
in our relentless attempt to strangle every last drop of
natural resources out of those that can hardly defend
themselves
against
our
never-halting
hegemony?
hmmm.
and i’m sure there’s no correlation between individuals that
get a good education growing up & the rate in which they are
incarcerated.
yes, and i’m sure that all these individuals in prison for measly
drug violations, are certainly doing the families that they have on the outside
a lot of good
on the
inside---because we have decided
that treating them the same as you
would a murderer or a rapist or
a child molester,
is a much better
solution
than trying to medicate
the situation by actually helping the communities in which they live---
investing the money that we choose instead to spend on
killing
the
those
abroad,
destroying even more families,
incinerating people that we will never even know the
faces of.
yeah, certainly,
using profanity in a creative piece is a much more vulgar thing than
what is actually happening in the
world.
right?
