The Worm That Turned!

The Worm That Turned!
His violence consigned to the distant past
The day I shot him and he breathed his last
He was always too ready with his fist
For us to peacefully coexist
By punching and kicking me he felt tough
Till I thought to myself I’ve had enough
So I went and bought me a gun that day
So now it was to be his turn to pay
Oh, how I laughed at the look on his face
As he tried to escape but I gave chase
It would be easy to shoot straight away
But I wanted him to feel fear that day.
Yes it was good to hear him beg and plead
Knowing it was to be his turn to bleed
For years I had lived in fear of my life
Married to a man who beat on his wife
I wanted him to live for a good while
Seeing him so frightened just made me smile
Oh how I laughed as he pleaded and cried
But I shot him anyway…so he died!
And now I have to live in foreign climes
Having shot him, accidentally, three times!
The blood oozing from him gave me such joy
Now I tote not a gun just a toy boy
Now he's dead and gone I can live again
Though I can't forget he caused me such pain
But if I see a man who beats his wife
I’ll say here‘s my gun...now go take his life!
End
