Water

Down in the infinite sky 

I searched for my mirrored reflection

but found the blue of your eyes



seeking for something

though catching instead, my gaze

through the trees, without inkling 



of future, and for the beautiful seconds,

we, unaware of the nature of sand's

quick-spilling hands as death beckons,



laughed and swapped places;

I to the deep, you to the sky,

a smile on our blended faces.



Then after that lifetime of moments

we touched as we passed,

back to our own familiar torments.
