Little Steps

Usurping Mother Nature of her immortal rights over mankind, I will walk one day,
One day when humans will learn to cherish what is there and not was,
When flaws will be embraced and not looked down upon,
The day when pure hatred will shatter because of a simple gesture,
A day which is not so far away.
For now I am merely crawling,
Back into those souls which had once abandoned, shunned me,
For I am no mere feeling,
I am a presence which enlightens the soul,
Faith, this is that they call me.
I hear screams devouring my very core,
From young children to those in need of their last breath ,
But I cannot help those who need comfort,
I cannot help those who only seek my warmth,
But I can help those who truly believe in something that cannot be obtained but only felt.
