Although the Testament is full of deals,
sons for sacrifice, a kid for a boy,
birthrights for a mess of pottage.
Or tablets, for cows.
On every page a covenant, a contract, plain,
from Genesis to Malachi, karah or
sumphoneo, Hebrew or Grecian script.
We do not bargain with God, Father,
He bargains with us.
