at the edge of a tattered map.

Some island this, bepalmed, becalmed

on the other side of me.

Here be dragons,

demons and

devils

dancing

a two-step tango

in the dark of a shuttered room.

Some limelight this, begrimed, resigned

on the other side of town.

Here be lovers,

liars and

losers

leading

a one-note lifetime

in the wake of a shattered dream.

Some desire this, betrayed, dismayed

on the other side of love.
