green teeth

I won a set of green fluorescent teeth
from a machine at the boating pool

stuffed them in my mouth and made you laugh
you said it was funnier than any poem I'd ever written

you laughed so much you fell out of your wheelchair
in panic I swallowed the teeth and choked

when I came to they said the ambulance had crashed
on the way to our little mis-happening

the crash had closed the road for hours
several small businesses went under

marriages were abandoned in the mess
and several went on kilroy to confess

now this would never have happened
because of a poem. You have to give me that
