Lucky Charm

Every time I leave your side
A sigh sweeps through my soul
I grasp at air , my senses dull
to know that you're not there.

The warmth of lip upon your neck
The telling touch on hand
The sweetened taste of light caress
Sweeps forth like sea on sand 

Memories flow and burn and fade
Like lanterns in the night 
Drifting slowly from the ship
They long to stay alight 

Reach out for me , my maiden lost
Speak forth your tender word 
To reassure and bolster me
In this bitter world

Through dusky field and tree
