While the family were eating their breakfast, Jennifer Jane announced the plan to visit the Wish Warehouse and then go on to see Clarence.
When they arrived in the wood, Peter looked up at the sky for clouds as Jennifer Jane made her wish and was totally unprepared for the gust of wind that swept them both off their feet.
Fortunately it was a soft landing and they were both standing up as Lieutenant Moonshine came out to meet them. Peter was shown the way in which the Wish Warehouse was run and was soon busy making notes in his little book.
Jennifer Jane was quite excited as they all walked over to the building where the creche had been built. She had never seen it before and only had her mother’s description of the way it had been designed. There was a large sign over the door. ‘The Mary Bell creche.’
“Gosh I didn’t know you were going to put up a sign!”
“Well it was mostly your mother’s idea, so we thought we’d give credit where it was due.”
Lieutenant Moonshine lead them through the outer room, carefully closing the door behind her, before opening the inner door to the space where the children were allowed to run about and fly if they wanted.
Peter and Jennifer Jane both ducked as small children came and fluttered round their heads. Moonshine laughed and reached up to get hold of the most persistent.
“Who are those people?” asked the child.
“Well this young man is on a visit from another world and the lady is Jennifer Jane. I’m sure you’ve heard stories about her. It was her mother who gave us the idea of having you all here where we can keep an eye on you.”
“Is she the Jennifer Jane who made Tornak the Terrible eat coal and killed Lurgin the troll?”
Jennifer Jane laughed, she didn’t seem to be able to get away from that story wherever she went.
Peter was watching the children flying in absolute disbelief. “I don’t believe it; just wait until I tell my Dad about all this."
