The House Where My Heart Dwells

There's a place on a darkened street
That you pass but you don't see
It's a passing shadow of the place it used to be
If you took the time to glance
I guess you'd think it an empty shell
But that's the house where my heart dwells
It's not on lonely street
A little further out of town
You won't have to wade through tears to get there
But it looks like it's been drowned
Though it's not up for demolition most would say it's gone to hell
That's the house where my heart dwells
The windows smashed and broken
There's a car tyre in the front yard
The door is hanging on for dear life
But it's getting hard
There's no lights on is anyone home? well it's hard to tell
That's the house where my heart dwells
The only mail upon the mat
Junk and circulars gone round
It doesn't look lost so much as having never been found
The man in the suit considers the current climate
He says: "This will be hard to sell!"
This is the house where my heart dwells.
