Singleness

The status doesn’t matter but the fear inside does,
Being alone is an issue for this woman who deeply loves.
Her life becomes affected and her vision is obscured,
How long until the aching stops and her heart is somehow cured?
Outside displays to others, a cheery disposition,
Yet inside her heart unguarded, to her spirit she doesn’t listen.
Yearning to be married puts this special time on hold,
She must listen to the still voice inside and do as she is told.
Singleness is not an affliction or a reason to feel any shame,
Life’s success isn’t measured from winning the dating game.
As Valentine’s Day approaches with its huge commercial hype,
Will she settle with a man who’s clearly not her type?
With a greater amount of patience, this time could be a blessing,
Not a struggle and a worry about a man she thinks she’s missing!
