If Someone Deserved The World

If someone deserved the world I wish it was me, 
It's been a long day and I'm struggling to sleep
I have hearts that I've broken,
I have wounds to repair,
I have dignity that I've stolen,
And it's not me standing there.

If someone deserved the world I wish it was me
I'm waiting for my nightmares to come 
And gift me a dream,
I want to change the lives of those who began with none,
But it always seems to late for me and I cry
Don't  bleed before the day receives the gun

If someone deserved the world, I wish it was me
I'm a prisoner of hope and I fight with a means
I've done a marathon in the dark,
And yet by the hour, it still seems incomplete
But if someone deserved the world, I think it should be me.
