It shocked me to hear,
Though it came as no suprise
And at Christmas, what a statement!
How very you.
I reckon ten years had passed
Since we last saw each other
But I assumed we'd meet again.
Typical me.
You know I heard your Mam
Say you were a troubled young man,
So I guess I knew a tormented child.
I keep thinking of the day
We sealed our friendship in blood,
Our hands tied together with elastic.
It stretched and it stretched
Till it broke and we bled.
"Like Brothers" we said, and we meant it.
Well I hope that maybe
Now you can rest,
And rage and scream no more.
Live no longer to be misunderstood
Or misunderstand. Yours...
