Muffin in the morning

some taters in the evening

I put a little butter on both

 

So happy when I wake up

some peanut butter, jelly on toast

 

Ducks went ‘quack’

'an my knees cracked

when I proposed to you

I didn’t think it through

Thank you, Paul. Bit of a warm-up quickie write. I haven't done anything since July. I stopped cold at the tail end of my Craven series and can't figure out why. It's like I've never written before.  Made me want to hit the library for a copy of Writing for Dummies. lol. I've had blocks befor, but never like this. You?

Funnily enough... I am 3000+ words into what is a long story for me. When I used to write consumer reviews in the dim and distant past, a wise old Irishman advised me when I complained of writer's block and lacking inspiration to "just keep on writing....nobody will notice the difference". I have always remembered that and it makes me laugh whenever I think of it :)

How kind, Mark. Thank you. It started out as a kid's song, but it got away from me and went where it went. I listen to a lot of John Prine and it's what influenced it I'm sure.

Ha. Yes I did, celtic. Now I have to find a proper Halloween song to sing to the grandkids. Which was supposed to be this before I took a wrong turn.

Did not see the twist coming and it was perfectly done and funny. Good to see something again from you and I understand that strange writers block that blanks out the words from forming in your head. But I'm sure Craven will make himself known again to you and you'll pick up the thread when the time is right...and it will be brilliant. Until then, keep up the song writing ,you've got a talent in that too.  Happy Halloween Rich!
