remind me of Chris,

that struggle to sound right.

Items of her clothing,
A pair of boots,
Underwear,
Her pants.
The smell of her on a sweater

I watch the movie,
wondering how many things
remind me of Chris:
The washing machine sound,
The click-clack of the heating,
Towels in the bathroom,
Washrags hanging out to dry.
The two of us talking,
Chris in the bath,
Washing her face,
Shaving her legs,
Towelling herself dry.

We fall asleep together,
In separate beds.
