the other day going 

to work the tube was packed

i mean rammed 

and someone grabbed

me bum but I couldn’t tell who

i got off and as the train was phallically

disappearing into the black tunnel a middle

aged well dressed man looked out 

through the dirt smeared glass 

looked at me

and slowly sniffed his hand

for some reason this brought to mind 

a recent conversation almost an argument 

with this guy who hypothesised

that all girls had the potential

to be uncommitted lesbians citing

a togetherness and physical closeness

guys just don’t have or if they do

in a guarded fashion

i fall into a

deep thought

i share a flat with gemma we’ve been

inseparable since we were six

brought up on the same estate we went 

to the same schools we’ve had hundreds

and hundreds of sleep overs in each others’

beds and even now if one of us is sad or

down we would become fourteen again

and cuddle in bed which invariably

and sometimes this would deviate
