And pulled me into the light
You didn't ask, you did falter
You knew that you were right

And touched my very soul
You saved me from a life of neglect
And gave me time to grow old

You bathed my scars and tended me

And given me time to grow old.. you changed tense here, would gave me time to grow old be better? The storm must have put us all in lovey dovey mode. I've just posted something very similar. This is lovely.
