Boromir

He had travelled far..no good tidings he bore
When exhausted he entered Rivendell
His news was dark shadows
And Minas Tirith struggling to survive
He was his country's man at the counsel of the Ring
He heard of struggle and warfare everywhere
The forces of Mordor boldly coming out
And then he saw what it was all about
Then he perceived the Ring
To rule all other rings
In the hands of the halfling...a forbidden fruit
A weapon not to be used
He was one of the Fellowship...a guard of the bearer
But in his heart a greed had grown
He wanted the Ring...he tried to take it
First by conviction, finally by force
Boromir, oh Boromir of Minas Tirith
You wanted the Ring to fight the enemy
But your fate was sealed when it instead took you
And death came to you as its final messenger
